Practicing on my technique of photoing flowers and the use of light.

A couple that I aren't very good. Been trying different settings on my camera. I take good landscapes but I have alot to learn when it comes to taking macro or inside photos.

Lovely light on that, Tricia. Macro/close-up photography can be so rewarding. Donna

Thanks, Donna. I've got much to learn about macro. Still having trouble with the focus. If I get one place in focus, another part won't be in focus. I have that same trouble inside with a group of people.

Hi Tricia: That really is a nice shot - great lighting and composition and the water droplets are a great touch. I wouldn't beat myself up over the depth of field - you have done as good as is physically possible here, I think. Main thing is to get the part sharpest that you want to draw the eye to - the stame..., pist..., er uhh, center thingamajiggies in this case. Which you did.... Scott

Thanks, Scott. Went to Walmart today to find more zinnia seeds. They were all out.
My husband has been "helping" me by weeding my flowerbeds this past week while I've been sick. He pulled all my baby sunflowers, 4 O-clocks and baby zinnias out. I didn't say a word.

Beautiful shot Tricia. I can sympathize with the hubby help. Mine weedeats or mows, anything in his path, so I now have a nice flower bed with azaleas, yuccas, and some small white flowering plant that vines (very pretty, just can't remember the name of it.
Oh, and I have roses on the other side. The snakes love them, they like to sit under the bushes and wait for me to try to weed. So I made a small puschase of a hoe last week, not for the little snakes, I have a shovel for them, but for those few 4-5 footers I've found in the yard. I could probably take pics of them, you know, before and after shots, hehehe, head shots, (literally) but I can't seem to find my camera when I see the little monsters.
Anyway, lovely picture, lighting is wonderful! Very nice.

Thanks, Caroline. Oh, dear. I didn't know you're a snake killer, too.

Oh, I say plenty, Wy. Trust me. This particular time, though, I didn't. I figured if he was helping me the least I could was to keep quiet.

Hi Tricia, Clearly, I haven't been paying enough attention to this forum... This is gorgeous! Your interplay of light and dark are quite dramatic and really make your subject "pop".... I tell ya, between this and your cooking and your "real-life" occupation....you are really JPF's answer to Martha Stewart. Naturally, I mean this in a more complimentary and a less snooty/ex-con sort of way.... Thanks for sharing, Beth

Beth, I'm so flattered you think I'm all of those things rolled into one. LOL! Thank you! Uncle Steve, you're far too kind.

Thanks, Mike. Appreciate you commenting. Your wife is lucky. I have a yard man, too. He works cheap-for beer mostly.

It's beautiful, Tricia. I've just came back from holidays pestering my kids and my hubby about taking pictures for some of my songs. Flying birds was the hardest to take as they fly so quickly. I'm hoping to have enough pictures to upload some songs on YouTube and Soundclick. I still don't know whether it's a good idea or not but I think I might do it just to try and see what happens if anything. Are you thinking of uploading any songs with your photos, Tricia? Nadia

Thanks, Nadia. Have done that before-putting pics up with songs. Is certainly a lovely idea.
